We flew to Tokyo on November 27, 2019 afternoon, in which, when we reached Haneda airport that day, it was almost midnight and the last meal that we had was about five hours before we landed in Tokyo. FIVE FREAKIN HOURS. And to make it worse, Haneda airport was nothing like Incheon airport. Exaggerate, i know.
When we reached Haneda that night, almost all stores had closed down. When i reached Incheon during my past two experiences, Incheon was, as good as in the morning, as busy as in the daylight. It felt so welcoming and lively in Incheon. While in Haneda, it almost looked like the city was dead and that everyone was going to bed early.
Anyways, it wasn't that bad. Haneda, as anyone else has told their stories before, has one of the most efficient airport systems in the world. We went through the immigration quite fast even though the queue was quite long, our baggage were already nicely arranged at one side by the time we had finished checking in our passport. The process of us getting Pasmo card was also quite smooth. Okay, end of the airport story.
To be honest, i loveee everything about Tokyo except its airport, not sure how Narita looks like. We stayed in Haneda for a night and moved to Tokyo the next morning. Oh, and the next proper meal that we had after the in airplane meal was the next day's lunch in Tokyo. So please make sure to bring a whole loads of simple foods for backup. In my case, maggie didn't work for Nab and i but we did bring cookies and etc.
We initially thought of bringing Brahims but Brahims contains meat and Japan's immigration was quite strict at that time since Olympics Games was supposed to take place in Japan in 2020.
I wasn't a fan of Japan, to be honest. When Nab came with the idea of visiting Japan for our year-end trip, i was quite reluctant to follow. I mean, i do watch animes but i'm not like a die hard fan etc. I'm just average. But still, it could be worth our money, it could be worth our time and tummy as well. IT. WAS. HONESTLY. TOTALLY. COMPLETELY. WORTH. IT.
This post is mainly about why you should be visiting Tokyo. Not Japan but Tokyo. Since i need to recap our activities in Japan one by one. So it should come by stages.
1. The magnificent views that it could offer you.

Fuji was indescribably breathtaking but the journey to reach there was completely not. We had to sit in a bus for 3 hours to get to the place and the fee was so expensive. That if you were to ask me if it is recommended or not, i wouldn't have suggested it. Anyways, the butter chicken that we had near the Kawaguchiko Lake was soooooo good.
2. The train system was very efficient yet it was quite complicated to be understood in the first place.
When i first stepped on Shibuya Crossing, i told Nab "Ni je ke Shibuya Crossing nya? Macam takde pape je..." I was arrogant or rude, i guess? But guess what? The real joy about Shibuya Crossing was not about the road itself. It was the moment that you had taken to catch the traffic light, to catch the pace of Japanese while getting your photos captured and the confusion that you had when finding the place that you were looking for. I've said what i said.
Tokyo Station was definitely the busiest train station that i've been to. Even at 10pm, it was still packed with humans like it was in the morning and people were still rushing to catch the trains in their fast pace. If you were to walk slowly or even stop, just find a place far from the crowd.
3. What doesn't fancy you at first might fancy you later.

4. Lobster Sandwich by Luke's Lobster
Definitely one of our favourites in Japan. In fact, when we first arrived in Osaka, the first thing that we were looking for was Luke's Lobster store. As if there was no other food available. But come on, it costed us about 1200JPY which was equivalent to less than 50 bucks in Malaysia. If you were to buy this in Malaysia, it would have costed you 100 bucks but will the taste be the same? I don't know.
5. What you see in animes are what you are going to find in Japan.
For instance, this fancy taxi in the above picture buuuuutttt the taxi fare was so cekik darah that most people choose to commute via train, motorcycle, bicycle or even just walk. Our options were train and walk. Ching. I think we managed to cover about 25-40k steps per day. Hence, every meals that we had taken had fully digested by the time we reached our hotel.
Those are the major reasons why you should visit Tokyo, in case if you are still reluctant or having a second thought of choosing other place. One of the things that i really liked about Tokyo was, almost all of its washroom had bidets. It was definitely convenient especially for us, Muslims and the fact that their washrooms were all very very clean.
I have so many things that i wished to write here but i'm gonna let you explore Tokyo on your own. Anyways, feel free to drop any dms on my ig or tweet me if you ever have any inquiries about Japan. XOXO
