Seoul, the second: Part 2

Hi again gang.

Sorry that it took me so long to come out with part 2. It's been so hectic since i started with a new job and my weekends were mostly for me to rest. Hence, the delayed update.

Nevertheless i still need to finish this post since i’ve already started.

So... let's begin with part 2!

Day 3 of Seoul.

We went to Nami Island, a must for anyone whose first time in Seoul and who had watched Winter Sonata before coming to Korea.

We took a train at about half past 10 and reached Nami Island at almost 1 pm. Nami was heavy with rain by the time we reached there and to make it worse, we didn't even prepare ourselves with neither umbrella nor raincoat to be brought to Seoul. So we had to purchase an umbrella which costed us 15k won in which we could’ve actually saved and used the money to buy more foods instead especially during a rainy day. Ye gang, i sangat berkira when it comes to money for food.

A 15k won umbrella couldn’t even cover the heads of the three of us. So we decided to buy raincoats costed at 2k won each. Pretty much blew up the fact that we had wasted 15k won for an umbrella which we then accidentally left at our airbnb on our last day in Seoul. Tsk.

Day 3:

Nami Island - Myeongdong Street

Directions:

Nami Island: Exit Gapyeong ITX Station. Take a taxi from the station straight away to Nami Island ferry station. If you're lucky, you can even get the taxi fares for one ride (In our case, each of us had to pay 1000 Won each) at 3,000 Won. You will have to pay for the admission fee before taking a ferry to Nami Island. You can also choose other option to get there which is by skyline zipwire but it will cost you extra money aaannnddd i've never tried that before. The normal admission fee is 10,000 Won.

Myeongdong Street: Myeongdong Station (Line 4 - Exit 6) Follow Exit 6 and it will lead you straight away to Myeongdong Night Market. All you have to do is follow the crowd.

Day 4:

Haneul Park - Coex Starfield Library - Myeongdong Street (again!)

Directions:

Haneul Park: World Cup Stadium (Line 6, Exit 1). Walk out of the stadium area and you will see a huge supermarket (wet market). Cross the street. Walk along the road next to the supermarket until you reach a 4 junction road. Cross the street and turn to the left. Walk along the road until you see a small counter next to the stairs which is the entrance of Haneul Park.

The map below might seem quite confusing but it is pretty helpful!

This was how the stairs looked like.

Once you've reached the last step of the stairs, you are still left with a few hundred metres or maybe 1-2 kilometres to reach Haneul Park ooorrr you can actually purchase a minibus ticket before going up the stairs. But as always, i preferred the long walk rather than taking the shortcut.

Coex Starfield Library: Samseong (Line 2, Exit 6). Walk for 300 metres and you'll be lead straight away  to Coex Starfield Mall and SMTown Coex Artium (I went there when i was following Fadhilah during my first trip).

Day 4 was extra tiring cause we had a long walk to Haneul Park but anyway it was all worth it. The scenery was good and everything was breathtaking. But it would've been even better if you go there during autumn season as the view will be beyond picturesque.

S'more tips while travelling:

1) Explore the street (don't be afraid to try)
- We used different routes to and fro Haneul Park.
2) Always be ready mentally and physically
- The average steps that i took for a day in Korea was 20 to 30k
- Print any maps or directions to your destinations before going to Korea. Try to avoid for the worst situation
3) Bring your own umbrella/raincoat from Malaysia

Till then, toodles everyone!

P.S. we are still left with Day 5!
