It was a rest day for the three of us.
We went out early in the morning to get ourselves to Namdaemun Market and came back 3 hours later with two full plastic bags in each of our hands. I didn't manage to go there during my first trip. My previous trip was a bit packed and rushing as we needed to cover places before i went back to KL. Anyways, it was easy to get to the market cause the street is located just next to the subway station.
For those of you who didn't know, Namdaemun is a street market that sells art, craft and souvenirs at affordable or very cheap prices. It is more likely to be simplified like the Petaling Street of Seoul. You can even buy a t-shirt at 4,000 Won which is approximately 12MYR.
Day 5:
Direction:
Namdaemun Market: Hoehyeon Station (Line 4, Exit 5). Namdaemun Market starts at the right side of the Exit.
We went to Myeongdong again on our last night there but this time around we decided to try most of the halal foods that they had on the street.
1) Hotteok (Korean sweet pancake): 3/5 cause it was super hot and my tongue burned.
2) Gyeran bbang (Koran egg bread): 4.5/5 the best of all!
3) Honey rosted butter prawn: 5/5 tasted SO GOOD! Damn mashisoyo!!!
4) Korean fishcake: 5/5 tasted very good as well cause it's way too different from the one in Family Mart. It's a defo must try!
There were more basically but we decided to skip a few sweet foods like banana split, croissant takoyaki and ice cream cause we believed that those food can be found in Malaysia. Oh, and by the way, if you were to go to Myeongdong, you MUST TRY DeliManjoo! It is Kaya Ball like Korean version and it is halal. The store is located in Myeongdong subway station and it is very easy to be spotted.
DeliManjoo in a rainy windy day >,<
So that's how our five days in Korea went like. This is not yet the last part. In shaa Allah, will come out with another part on how to read the Subway map and finding good food in Korea. Till then, toodles x
