It was always my friends who came out with good travelling ideas. They know how good plans are and they definitely know how to make a good plan. The idea of travelling or should we say visiting Penang was first came out from Nab, our high school friend.
Why was it first? Because we ignored the plan.
Being someone who was born in Kedah or having Kedah as your hometown, I am technically having Kedah's blood running in my veins. Well, that's not the point. The point is, we had always visitted Penang (Obviously not Georgetown) whenever we were to go back to our hometown. Hence, the idea of visiting Penang did not sound fancy to me.
As time goes by, together with the power of instagram, I was proved wrong. I was always wrong in this kind of situation. Penang was fantastic. It was better compared to Malacca if I were asked to compare between both. Penang is a place where if you, as a Malaysian, do not go to Penang for jalan-jalan basis, then you rugi teruks. Nah seriously, Penang is a food paradise.
Anyways, we went to Penang by flight.
Our return tickets costed us RM79 for each person with addition of RM12 bus ticket from KL Sentral to KLIA2.
The journey from KL to Penang wasn't too long but it felt as if it was the longest we ever had since we didn't sleep the night before. Our flight was scheduled at 6.30 am. Talk about night rant. Yes, we did. So the whole journey in the flight was filled with sleep or we might even snored except for Fatia cause she was not able to sleep due to bumpy ride.
We reached our hotel at 9.30 am which was way way way too early since our check in time was at 3.00 pm but the owner was kind enough to let us in early. I guess we looked really tired from the long night that we had.
The first two days in Penang, we rented bicycles since our hotel was located in the city heart of Penang, which is Georgetown. The locations for the tourist attractions were within 1 to 2 km distance. Not more than 2.5 km. So everything was easily accessed for us.
The bicycles costed us RM16 each for the whole two days.
Talk about conquering Penang huh?
There were too many things that could be done in Penang but we packed the three days that we had with food hunting. We barely visited a place without having food as the main objective except for Avatar Secret Garden. That was solely for the sake of scenic photographic view.
Let us just give way for the photos to speak for the whole trip. I have also rated the food. You may follow them from the photo sequences.
