I guess the worst part of coming back from a trip is the blues of having to move on. I just got back from Seoul, Korea two weeks ago and I could barely move on from the trip. I am still reminiscing about the trip and keep on reminiscing because that's what I'm best at. It was the longest overseas trip that I had went so far. 8 days in total. Before this, the longest trip I had been to was Bukit Tinggi. It was when I went for a hike with Aini and her cousins. Then, there's no more until this Korea trip.
I went to Korea with my high school friends, Fadhilah and Syafiq (Dilah's brother). The trip was at first, for 12 days but then I started working and things are no longer the same. Hence, I decided to shorten my trip to 8 days but then, Dilah and Syafiq stayed until the twelfth day. And then I regret, duhh because things got really exciting and I was leaving and Dilah and Syafiq were still enjoying. It was indeed, very hard to leave.
We reached Seoul at 3.10 pm on the 1st of April. It was Dilah's second time so she was the one who led us most of the times. Settled down with luggage, simcard and bought our T-Money cards at the convenience store at the airport. Then, off we went to our guesthouse. By the time we reached there, it was almost 7 pm and it was already dark.
First subway ride in Seoul; Incheon Airport Terminal 1 --> Hongik University
Us, being extra touristyyy. It was 17 degrees and we were actually freezing but a photo in front of Incheon Airport is mandatoryyy
First lunch that we had when we touched down Seoulland.
In Korea, we stayed at Kimchee Sinchon Guesthouse which is located in Hongdae. We booked the guesthouse through Agoda. It is a 15 minutes walking distance from Hongdae subway station. We chose Hongdae since Hongdae is a strategic location and it is popular for its nightlife too and if you wanna see oppas, it is a perfect place for youuu. Okay, don't get me wrong. If you wanna go and see them busking, dancing or doing live performance, Hongdae is the perfect place.
Our room at Kimchee Sinchon Guesthouse.
That night, we went to have our dinner at Myeongdong. We first tried the halal street foods at Myeongdong street but they were not enough for our hungry tummy. So we decided to look for Busan Jib and fill the empty space.
Gyeran bbang (Egg bun) Our favourite street food so far. Tried at a few other places but Myeongdong's is the best so far. Cost me 2,000 won for one gyeran bbang tapi kenyang alhamdulillah
Dinner at Busan Jib (Mixture of bulgogi; beef and a lot of veges)
The rest of the night we spent by looking for a traveller adaptor since Syafiq needed one. Dilah's sharing with me so she didn't rush for that. We ended up not finding one but entered shops selling cute stuff. Girls can't resist this. Seoul ends its night pretty early at 10 pm but they start to operate usually at 11 am onwards.
In a nutshell, our Day 1 ended pretty early. By early I mean 12 pm (local time) and 11 pm for Malaysia time. Will be updating about Day 2 in the next entry in shaa Allah.
